Allen Lane is delighted to be supporting the London Borough of Redbridge in their search for an End User Computing Engineer to join the IT Support team on a permanent basis. This role is key to ensuring IT Services are delivered to all council users both internal and external A large part of this role will be desk-based and will involve working with customers face to face within the organisation.
The role
As an End User Computing Engineer you will:
- Respond to queries online, by phone or in person, following service procedures and quality standards, and using personal initiative to provide the best possible customer service overall.
- Successfully resolve IT incidents, providing workarounds or permanent fixes, taking responsibility for delivering working systems for customers
- Supervise or carry out the installation or repair of IT equipment and software in Council and partner locations.
- Supervise the work of other staff as assigned, support their professional development and ensuring the quality of the outcomes delivered.
- Support the Service Desk and their responsibilities when required
- Managing relevant IT Services to the Council's partners and other customers in line with the IT Strategy and Council policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of the council's IT systems and Infrastructure
- Ensure all support and change activity is accurately recorded following IT Service Practice
Key Skills required
As an End User Computing Engineer you will have:
- Microsoft 365, Endpoint Manager/SCCM qualification or equivalent experience
- Significant experience of IT or helpdesk support in a large, complex customer-facing organization.
- Technical knowledge of InTune, SCCM, Office 365 and Active Directory
- Significant experience in working as part of IT and project teams with structured project management controls.
- Proven experience in successfully delivering highly valued customer service to IT service consumers.
- Competent in management of assets, purchasing and disposal processes.
- Experience using an ITSM tool for task and knowledge management.
- Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining device images/builds, configuration profiles of Laptops, PC's, Tablets & Smart Phones.
- Effective communication skills both face-to-face and in writing. Able to report accurately and concisely on work activities.
