Contracts Manager

My Steel Works Client are looking for a Contracts Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously. The ideal candidate will ensure that all contracts are compliant with legal standards and company policies, mitigate risks, and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle from initial request through execution and renewal, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, operations) to ensure contract terms are understood and followed.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements.
  • Maintain a repository of all contracts and related documentation, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on contract management processes and best practices.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or discrepancies as they arise.
  • Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance metrics, and other relevant information.
  • Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting contracts and incorporate necessary changes into the company's contracting processes.
  • Assist in dispute resolution related to contracts and participate in negotiations as required.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for contract management and administration.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in contract management, preferably within steel works or construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law and legal principles.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CCM) is desirable.
