Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver inspiring and effective English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5.
  • Engage and motivate students to reach their full potential through innovative teaching methods and a positive classroom environment.
  • Assess, track, and report on students' progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school's culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • Uphold the school's values and policies, including those relating to safeguarding and student welfare.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A passion for English and teaching young people.
  • Ability to teach English across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being desirable.
  • Commitment to professional growth and a drive to excel in teaching practice.
  • Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for student behaviour and achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
