The opportunity

Following sustained and continued growth plans, we have a newly created and unique opportunity as an Underwriting Operations Officer within our Service Excellence team and wider Operations function here at QBE.

This role will be pivotal to supporting the delivery of the transformation landscape across Underwriting & Operations in order to drive consistency across Portfolios, minimise impact and maximise benefits of change implementation.

Your new role

  • Support the Service Excellence UW Ops Manager in the delivery of the Operations Change Plan.
  • Own and drive specific initiatives within the Operations Plan.
  • Liaising with business stakeholders to understand the current way of working, the challenges the team are facing and highlighting areas of potential improvement and brainstorming options.
  • Supporting the progress of initiatives by aiding collaboration, progressing actions and troubleshooting issues that are preventing progress.
  • Feedback back into the Operations Change Plan.
  • Consistently challenge the end-to-end operating journey across all relevant Portfolios of business to improve its technical capability, operational efficiency, customer service and alignment across the P&L.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders/business managers to fully support their change needs.
  • Work closely with Underwriting Support Managers to ensure all concerns re-emerging risks or current change are understood ad managed through clear communication, training, collaboration etc.
  • Work closely with Service Excellence Officers across international operations on aligned initiatives to ensure consistency wider than the P&L.
  • Work in line with the consistent standards & best practice set by the Service Director.

About you

  • Experience of working with and influencing stakeholders at all levels – internal and external.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Able to use MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Broad experience of working in commercial insurance/reinsurance operations (Preferred not required).
  • People & Business Change management skills (Preferred not required).
