Salary:

£39,500

Location:

South West Region - England.

Working Pattern:

Homebased and On Site (Hybrid)

Hours:

09:00am – 17:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Full-Time)

No Weekends, No Bank Holidays, No Long Shifts, and No Evening Working!

Part-Time working hours available after training.

Role Overview

As a

Work Capacity Assessment (WCA) - Disability Assessor

, you'll play a critical role in evaluating how health conditions impact daily living and work activities. Your work will directly contribute to the fair and accurate distribution of disability benefits, helping claimants receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Engage with claimants via telephone and face-to-face assessments to understand the impact of their health conditions on their daily life and ability to work.
  • Review Medical Evidence: Analyse a variety of medical documentation, including GP reports and specialist opinions, to develop a well-rounded understanding of each claimant's health.
  • Prepare Objective Reports: Compile clear, concise, and accurate reports that meet DWP guidelines and support the decision-making process for disability benefits.

Example Tasks:

  • Interview Claimants: Gather information on health conditions and daily challenges to assess their impact on the claimant's life.
  • Document Review: Scrutinise medical records and other relevant evidence to create a comprehensive assessment.
  • Report Writing: Draft detailed, objective reports that provide recommendations based on your professional findings.

Training Program

To ensure your success, we offer a 5-week comprehensive home-based training program covering:

  • Assessment Techniques: Learn best practices for conducting accurate, fair, and thorough evaluations.
  • DWP Guidelines: Understand the specific requirements and guidelines of the Department for Work and Pensions.
  • Report Writing: Develop the skills needed to produce detailed, objective, and high-quality reports.

Who We Need

We are specifically seeking:

  • Registered Adult Nurses
  • Occupational Therapists (Adult-focused)
  • Physiotherapists (Adult-focused)

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualification in your respective field.
  • Registration: Must have at least 2 years of active registration with the NMC (for Nurses) or HCPC (for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists).
  • Skills: Strong communication, proficient typing, and excellent IT skills are essential. Your ability to engage with claimants with empathy and professionalism is crucial.
