Junior Project Manager / Project Coordinator (Construction)

GBR Recruitment Ltd, are proud to be exclusively working in partnership with a leading Timber Framed & Steel Structures Construction Company who specialise in the Design & Build of bulk storage solutions (such as timber dome shaped salt barns), recruiting for a remote based Junior Project Manager / Project Coordinator to manage, support & co-ordinate UK wide install, design & maintenance projects.

A great opportunity for Construction graduates with 2 years+ working experience.

This is a key proactive Project Co-ordination / Construction Design support role, acting as the 1st point of contact for the project/s, liaising directly with main contractors, sub-contractors & end using clients, plus amending technical drawings & procuring materials, plant hire & various other services from trade suppliers, ensuring all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle fit together perfectly.

Along with strong Commercial Construction Project Coordination & AutoCAD or Sketch Up CAD skills, you will also come from a strong Construction / Built Environment background, ideally with some knowledge / experience of Timber-framed buildings, Wooden Structures / Roofs or Steel-Trussed buildings.

This role will coordinate the new build construction phases (pre-construction, build phases, through to completion / end client handover), amend any technical drawings using Sketch Up software, plus manage the maintenance & repairs on existing dome buildings.

Duties:

  • Project coordination of all new build installations & scheduling / planning existing timber buildings maintenance & repair works (customer aftersales support).
  • 1st point of contact for the end using Client, the Sub-contractor & any other 3rd parties.
  • Initially amending/updating with SketchUp (and/or AutoCad), to later develop into creating drawings from scratch in consultation with the project / build teams
  • Organise all technical drawings & the drawing register, plus associated material list (BOMs). Plus putting together the O&M Manual / Build plans.
  • Building Materials ordering / purchasing.
  • Occasionally ordering of Plant Hire Machinery (MEWPs etc.).
  • Regular communication both off site & on-site, with the end using client & subcontractor/s to ensure project builds stay on schedule & that build targets are met.
  • Support build design & works quotations, using Sketchup & basic AutoCAD functions.
  • Compile & maintain RAMS library (liaise with sub-contractor on this).
  • Carry out site inspections, using iAuditor (training given).
  • Produce invoices using Xero Accounting software.
  • General administrative / business support for installation projects & sales.

Attributes:

  • Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager level experience (2-4 years' experience within construction / built environment)
  • Ideally Degree qualified or time served in a similar role.
  • Timber Framed Construction or Steel Trussed buildings knowledge is beneficial.
  • Some experience of purchasing trades labour, materials & plant hire
  • Possess Sketch Up or Auto CAD skills (3D). Able to amend/update technical drawings.
  • Some previous construction works quoting experience would be useful.
  • Happy to travel to UK sites 2-4 times per month.
  • Basic H&S knowledge.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Strong professional communicator.
  • Proactive & able to work remotely with minimal supervision.
