Estates and Facilities Technical Services Lead

Cobalt Recruitment are working with a large NHS Trust in the North West to recruit a dynamic interim Estates and Facilities Technical Services Lead for an initial 6-12 month contract, paying £42.00-£46.00 per hour LTD rate (inside IR35, via Umbrella Company) depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be accountable for several aspects of Estates and Facilities Technical Services delivered across the Trust's estate, its partnership organisations and internal customers. This will include leading operational delivery of services to ensure they are progressive, responsive to internal and external demand, are patient focused, safe, efficient and effective. You will be accountable for both a robust governance structure and performance against agreed service standards and key performance indicators.

The Estates and Facilities Technical Services Lead will be responsible for the management of the technical processes that underpin each local care organisation Estate. This includes the maintenance and repair of all building fabric, utilities and engineering services, using the best possible business and working practices. You will manage hard and soft FM contracts, both internal and external, in addition to all levels of directly employed staff, to ensure the delivery of operational estates and facilities services including backlog maintenance capital works, laundry, group security, switchboard and group transport services.

You will have/be:

  • Professional/academic qualification at degree level or equivalent experience in a Technical or EFM discipline.
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development in EFM disciplines.
  • Significant technical experience in a senior manager position, in the estates and facilities management sector.
  • Significant experience in managing and delivering estates and facilities infrastructure projects for new works, backlog works and technical support.
  • Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g. budgets, timescales.
  • Successful track record in securing year on year improvements in quality and value. Recent experience of successful negotiation and contract management.
  • Recent experience of procurement through tendering.
  • Self-motivating with a drive to develop Estates and Facilities Services.
  • Ability to achieve demanding tasks and objectives against deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively with a wide range of people.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills including conflict resolution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
