At Engage Education Services, we've specialised in recruiting education staff to work in all kinds of roles in schools for over a decade. We're currently looking for an enthusiastic School Facilities Manager to work full-time at a fantastic school in Berkshire.

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we're looking for more high-quality Business Management professionals to work with these schools and ensure they continue to run smoothly.

We are looking for an innovative, efficient and cost-effective business manager to lead the school on a long term basis.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 37 hours a week, all year round

Salary: £40,000 - £46,500

Engage Education are seeking a Facilities Manager to ensure our school's buildings and site are maintained to a high standard, secure, and effectively meet the needs of the school day and extended hours provision. This role involves deputising in the absence of the Head of Estates and managing a team of caretakers, a Cleaning Manager, and day cleaners.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain school facilities to a high standard, ensuring learning environments are available for use.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain the Facilities CAFM system and manage all contractors within your area of responsibility.
  • Oversee advanced on-site systems such as the building management system, biomass boilers, and door controls.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating a comprehensive cyclical maintenance programme and asset log.
  • Manage site security and liaise with security contractors.
  • Manage the school minibuses, swimming pool plant room, and grounds maintenance.
  • Provide excellent site support for school premises hires.
  • Undertake regular site inspections and manage remedial actions.
  • Oversee car parking management and be available for out-of-hours call-outs on a rota basis.
  • In the absence of the Head of Estates, oversee the management of Health and Safety, Catering, ICT, and Reception.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in personnel management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation.
  • Ability to manage a diverse team and multiple projects.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Competency in using CAFM systems and managing contractors.
  • Experience with building-related mechanical, electrical, and heating services.
