A Business Analyst (SAP Finance) is required for our client based in Manchester for an initial 6 month contract (likelihood of extensions). This is a hybrid position with ideally around 2 days per week on site (some flexibility).
Our client is undergoing a large-scale transformation project with the implementation of a new Finance system. The chosen product is S4 Hana Public Cloud. The project is now transitioning to the implementation stage.
The SAP Finance Business Analyst (Fin BA) is responsible for analysing, designing and facilitating the implementation of SAP Finance solutions to meet the financial and accounting needs of the organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial processes, and experience with SAP Finance modules as well as Local government specific business processes (MTFS ,Grants management etc). SAP FICO (ECC) consultants keen to make a move to S/4 HANA will be considered as well.
They will work closely with the Finance Lead and Finance SME's, Project Manager, Solution Architect, HR Lead as well as interface with Implementation Partner, Solution Standardisation Board etc.
Key Responsibilities:

SAP Finance Implementation and Support:
-
Support Fit to Standard (Fitness of SAP software to user processes and Requirements) workshops alongside the Internal teams and Implementation partner by documenting the key business processes, decisions and outcomes.

Support the internal teams with review of the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP FI modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, etc.) as well as SAP Analytics for Budgeting, Forecasting .

Conduct gap analysis between business requirements and SAP standard capabilities, reviewing solutions to bridge gaps.

Business Process Analysis:

Analyse existing financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.

Develop and document business process flows and create functional specifications for system enhancements.

Data Management and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely data migration, cleansing, and reconciliation from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA

Work closely with the data migration teams to ensure Master data and transaction data is ready for migration and in suitable templates

Assist in financial reconciliation as well as cutover of the data .

Develop and generate reports specifications for S/4 HANA reports to support Finance operations, Planning and decision-making.

Experience:

Experience as a SAP Finance Business Analyst or similar role.

Basic knowledge of SAP or S/4 FI modules

Any experience of SAP-ECC to S/4 HANA transformation will be desirable.

In-depth understanding of financial processes, including accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Expertise with at least one BPM software like Visio ,ARIS or SAP Signavio.

S/4HANA certification (FI) will be a big plus

Part qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIPFA) is beneficial
