Mornings (5.30am - 1.30pm Monday – Friday)

Afternoons (1pm - 9.30pm Monday - Thursday & 12.30pm - 6pm Friday)

We are working with a leading manufacturing organisation, who due to growth, are looking for a Production Team Leader to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the people, procedures, and processes within the department. Managing, motivating, and engaging the Teams to meet business targets. Job Description

  • Leadership and communication:

  • Lead by setting a good example - behaviour consistent with the company Behaviours and Values.

  • Act as an interface between the team and others in the business

  • Clear delivery of key messages to the team (including explanation of any goals, plans and roles)

  • Regularly reporting both to own team and upwards to their line manager

  • Reputation management

  • Recruitment:

  • Manage recruitment with the assistance of HR

  • Ensure a successful induction process for new starters

  • Objectives/Goal Setting:

  • Clearly communicate required tasks, agree deadline and monitor achievement

  • Set and agree SMART objectives for individuals/team and monitor performance against these

  • Performance Management and Training:

  • Manage and conduct appraisal process with all permanent team members

  • Provide regular constructive feedback to individuals and the team regarding their performance

  • Address performance issues quickly, candidly and constructively

  • Manage capability and conduct issues with the assistance of HR

  • Identify training and development opportunities for the team

  • Absence management with company policy; to include sickness and annual leave

  • Promote and drive continuous improvement within the teams

  • Responsible for HSE compliance and improvement activities for the Team.

  • Ensure mandatory company Learn courses are completed on time.

  • Team Specific Responsibilities:

  • Understanding quality requirements on products and managing as per Quality Plans.

  • Managing shift changeover procedures

  • Managing shift rota to ensure correct level of resourcing for successful running of processes.

  • Ensure accurate and up to date traceability system i.e., job sheets, ID recording, batch labelling.

  • Liaising with the Engineering Team on machine and process problem solving

  • Responsibility for production output & scrap rates for shift

  • Liaison with other shifts regarding problems, quality issues, job status, etc

  • Ensure tidiness, cleanliness & housekeeping standards are always maintained in & around the production area.

  • Adherence and compliance to ISO standards

  • Adherence to health and safety requirements

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of building strong relationships and managing diverse personalities.
  • Experience undertaking appraisals and performance management procedures.
  • Experience of dealing with conflict and disciplinary procedures

Desirable Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Demonstratable understanding of change management.
  • Experience of KPI development, implementation, reporting and refinement
  • Career related qualifications or certificates
  • Experience of using ERP applications

  • Profit Share Scheme – this starts to collate from the 2nd full month of employment and is paid 6 monthly (Mar & Sept). Whilst this is based on Company profit and is therefore not guaranteed, it is designed to pay approx. 3% of salary across a year.
