gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Engineering Team Leader to work at their facility based near Deeside

Performance Objectives

  • Work closely with Production Team Leaders and Managers taking responsibility for delivering a high-quality engineering service in support of achieving operational targets.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of a team to provide engineering support to manufacturing operations.
  • Plan and co-ordinate resources to complete all work allocated to the team in a timely manner.
  • Achieve team Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) in respect to equipment performance, reliability and breakdown & maintenance completion.
  • Coach and develop engineers and machine minders regarding safe working practices and the rapid diagnosis and resolution of faults.
  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and basic control & instrumentation faults, within skill levels.
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement activities including leading short interval control and root cause analysis events. Proactively identify areas for continuous improvement within the production work environment, equipment, systems.
  • Auditing of monitoring systems as required by the Company to ensure compliance with Company Procedures and legislation, identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Adherence to non-conformance processes and corrective action activities to ensure compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Standards.
  • Support the delivery of key performance indicators for the plant related to Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost standards.

Person Specification

  • Time served Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 City & Guilds / ONC / BTEC
  • Food Safety Level 2
  • HACCP Level 2
  • IPAF or equivalent
  • IEE wiring regulations (current edition)
  • Ability to understand and to work to approved Standards / Safe Operating Procedures
  • Understanding of Risk Assessment Processes.
  • Proficient in fault-finding.
  • Good understanding and awareness of Safety and Quality Standards within a workplace
  • GMP Standards
  • Standards / HACCP
  • Waste Reduction and Yield Management
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing Approaches
  • Experience of People Management activities, Labour/Resource Management and Employee Development Programmes.
  • Undertaking Work Environment / Area Risk Assessments
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement Activities or Root Cause Analysis Assessments
