Service & Support Operations Lead

  • A newly appointed SLT has embedded best practice processes throughout the organisation, allowing them to win sizeable contracts with household names.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and develop the service and support team. You will work closely with engineers, customers and suppliers to ensure seamless service delivery. There will be regular travel to other sites, including 1 day per week in Doncaster. You will be responsible for managing a small team and ensuring efficient, high-quality service to their clients.

About You:

We are looking for someone with proven experience in a similar leadership role who is ready to take ownership of this growing department. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Service Coordinators across multiple sites, including performance reviews, training, and development.
  • Collaborate with the Service & Support Manager to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Foster strong relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities to develop business within a 2-hour radius.
  • Handle customer complaints and oversee the escalation process to ensure swift resolution.
  • Monitor service performance metrics and suggest improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Support the Service Coordinators with day-to-day operations, such as proposals, invoicing, and purchasing.
  • Assist with service and contractor contract renewals, as well as engineer time bookings and KPI tracking.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to service operations, fleet management, and health & safety documentation.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a service or support environment.
  • Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and terminology is advantageous.
  • Experience in the food, beverage, dairy, or related industries is a plus but not essential.
