We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a Further Education College in the Manchester area. This role is essential for fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing support to learners with additional needs. If you have a passion for education and a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we want to meet you at our upcoming recruitment event.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Offer high-quality support to learners with SEND, EHCPs, and High Needs, promoting their independence, achievement, and progression.
  • Implement the Person-Centred Review process in collaboration with learners, parents/carers, curriculum teams, and external agencies.
  • Liaise with schools and external agencies to assess needs and plan transitions for new learners.
  • Develop SMART targets with learners, monitor progress, and ensure the provision of quality support.
  • Mentor Learning Support Assistants, providing feedback to meet objectives and improve performance.
  • Advise potential new learners with SEND, EHCPs, and complex high needs.
  • Assist learners in transitioning to higher education and guide them through the application process for Disabled Student Allowance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with learners with SEND, EHCPs, and High Needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in education.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
