We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a Further Education College in the Manchester area. This role is essential for fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing support to learners with additional needs. If you have a passion for education and a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we want to meet you at our upcoming recruitment event.

Day-to-day of the role:
- Offer high-quality support to learners with SEND, EHCPs, and High Needs, promoting their independence, achievement, and progression.
- Implement the Person-Centred Review process in collaboration with learners, parents/carers, curriculum teams, and external agencies.
- Liaise with schools and external agencies to assess needs and plan transitions for new learners.
- Develop SMART targets with learners, monitor progress, and ensure the provision of quality support.
- Mentor Learning Support Assistants, providing feedback to meet objectives and improve performance.
- Advise potential new learners with SEND, EHCPs, and complex high needs.
- Assist learners in transitioning to higher education and guide them through the application process for Disabled Student Allowance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field.
- Proven experience working with learners with SEND, EHCPs, and High Needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in education.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
