Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a rapidly growing Insurance risk provider. They are a data-driven, technology-fuelled insurance platform that empowers underwriters to serve their customers more effectively. Using advanced data intelligence tools, they are rebuilding the way underwriters share and exchange risk.

In this role, you will work alongside various teams including Sales & Distribution, Technology, Finance, and Outsourced Operations to manage data onboarding, premium, and cash management of specialty underwriters within Europe and the UK.

You will be the main point of contact for data queries, problems, and solutions, building relationships and intimate knowledge of our MGA data, technology, and processes. You will assist members in analysing and resolving data quality issues that impact data ingestion, regulatory compliance, and reporting, utilising your expertise in applicable data standards.

Your contribution will be essential to the success of the Operations function, transforming data processes to deliver governed, timely, and high-fidelity data sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational due diligence and onboarding procedures for new MGAs and business expansions.
  • Coordinate and manage the accounts, systems, and onboarding procedures.
  • Handle the onboarding of new tax authorities in liaison with finance.
  • Reconcile Written & Paid Bordereaux against cash received, and oversee the transition to Outsourced Operations, DUA, and Credit Control teams.
  • Manage operational procedures and adherence to controls.
  • Oversee the bordereaux and query resolution KPIs, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Deliver Operational KPIs for onboarding, premium, and cash operations.
  • Ensure debt targets are met and continuously improved with better working practices.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external queries regarding outstanding items.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop reporting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of new procedures, maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure compliance.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and flexible in dealing with significant operational changes.
  • Accomplish tasks with minimal supervision, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills around highly technical items.
  • Experience in MGA Operations preferred, with knowledge of the specialty market.
  • Excellent understanding of Data Quality, highly analytical and proficient in Excel.
  • Experience in SQL coding for analysis and ingestion is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate and confident, able to fit into a dynamic environment with a 'can do' attitude and ability to build relationships across different business levels.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute to team objectives.
