Credit Controller

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with an organisation in the 3rd sector in Belfast who are actively recruiting for a Credit Controller to join their small team within finance.

This is a full time permanent opportunity offering hybrid working and flexibility around the hours of work (37 hours per week).

This is a lovely role within a stable and caring organisation and the perfect opportunity for a Credit Controller who is able to negotiate, find solutions and build relationships within the organisation and externally.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Credit controller will be solely responsible for the control of rent accounts, arrears and recovery and will be able to accurately prepare reports for management.

Specific duties will involve:

  • Processing the financial transactions for the rent ledger including the weekly rental charges and payments received from the tenants
  • Administering the allocation of housing related benefits within tenant's rent accounts
  • Liaising with the tenants regarding payments received and rental income due
  • Administering tenant payment facilities including setting up direct debits and issuing payment cards
  • Issuing annual rent statements to tenants
  • Providing information regarding tenant rent accounts, arrears and recovery
  • Monitoring and assisting with the recovery of rent arrears
  • Acting as the first point of contact to current tenant's with rent arrears
  • Contacting tenants and issuing arrears correspondence
  • Producing monthly arrears and reports for review by the Senior Management Team

The Person:

The job holder will have previous experience working in a credit control role, effectively controller the debtors ledger.

Applicants will have excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a range of individuals and offer support and solutions as required.

Applicants will have a strong working knowledge of MS Excel and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
