A Primary School in the North Bristol area is looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with SEND needs. You will be expected to support a Year 1 pupil who has SEMH needs.

The Role

This Teaching Assistant position is for a Full-Time 1:1 role working with a child in a year 1 class where you will be responsible for supporting this child who has various Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

The Head Teacher is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide a positive and empathetic approach when supporting this individual. Someone who is patient and can use your own initiative to adapt activities.

You will be expected to:

  • Strong positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher.
  • Be flexible and encouraging when working with this pupil.
  • Be adaptable with the child's learning environment.
  • Communicate and observe personal and learning development.
