Ark Pioneer Academy in Barnet is currently looking for an experienced Head of Religious Education to join their dedicated teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent contract that starts in September 2024.

Responsibilities
- lead the department and be accountable for sustaining or improving the quality of teaching and learning in all key stages;
- provide support for colleagues on classroom management issues and liaise with tutors and pupil staff support as appropriate;
- lead, develop and co-ordinate the promotion and monitoring of students' progress, including the use of assessment and data;
- Develop strong partnerships and ensure regular communication with parents
- Be active in issues of student welfare and support
- Complete duties around the school, modelling best practice for all staff
Requirements
- Mastery of and enthusiasm for Religious Education
- Knowledge of the national secondary education system, examinations and curriculum
- Experience of reflecting on and improving teaching practice to increase student achievement
- Experience of interpreting student data to drive lesson planning and student progress
- Experience of raising attainment in a challenging environment
- Experience of leading successful enrichment which inspires and motivates learners
- Effective and systematic behaviour management
- Must hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications
- Must hold Right to work in the UK
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
- Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years
