SEN 1-1 Teaching Assistant

Your new company
Hays are working closely with a lovely primary school in central Warwick who are dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all their students. They are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from October half-term, for the rest of the academic year. The role is Monday to Friday, 8.30-15.30.

Your new role
You will be working closely with a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will have a patient and nurturing approach, helping the child understand their learning through repetition and a structured routine. Your responsibilities will include-

  • Supporting the pupil in their daily learning activities
  • Implementing tailored strategies to enhance understanding and engagement.
  • Fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the pupil's needs are met.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • At least 40 days of reference experience working with children within the last 3 years.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for supporting children.
  • The ability to create a structured and engaging learning environment.
