Design Development Manager (Luxury KBB; B2B) - London

Location: Central London (Hybrid); covering London (with all travel expenses paid)

Salary: Above Market Average + Car/Car Allowance

Hours: Mon-Fri; 09:00am-17:30pm (with some flexibility on start and end times)

Our client, a luxury KBB (kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom) appliance firm, is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Design Development Manager. This role focuses on the London market and is crucial for developing relationships with top-tier specifiers, designers, and architects to influence the brand and drive sales growth.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Delivery:

  • Plan and execute the marketing design development strategy with key specifiers, ensuring alignment with global goals and growth aspirations.
  • Translate strategic plans into executable actions that increase product market share and profitability.
  • Ensure disciplined and effective execution of strategic plans, including necessary priority changes.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration with global supporting functions.

Design Development:

  • Understand key specifier communities (kitchen/bathroom designers, interior designers, and architects) and their environmental influences.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry changes, competitor trends, and best practices.
  • Cultivate and manage trusting partnerships with existing key specifiers to leverage the brand and drive growth.
  • Ensure a seamless, brand-aligned representation of the value proposition across all key specifier touchpoints.
  • Initiate and attend designer network and retail events to create new opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Deliver product training tailored to business benefits and competitive advantages.
  • Manage partnerships with external third-party agencies as required.
  • Formulate monthly performance and metric scorecards for key specifiers.
  • Ensure all design development activities comply with relevant regulations and laws.

Product & Brand Ambassador:

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of brand and product messaging to key specifiers.
  • Maintain accuracy and availability of product assets (descriptions, specifications, drawings, etc.) for key specifiers.
  • Act as the design liaison for in-market channel requirements.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure personal safety at work and take steps to prevent harm to others.
  • Follow all safety instructions and report hazards and incidents in the workplace.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the appliance or building industry in design, project management, or sales/marketing roles.
  • Experience working with interior/kitchen designers and architects.
  • Proven success in developing strategic partnerships internally and externally.
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or Interior Design preferred, with relevant design credentials (AKBD, CKD, LEED AP).

  • Strong commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
  • Creative and technical design skills, with the ability to read floor plans and elevations.
  • Ability to recommend appliance selection, placement, and configuration based on spatial characteristics and design trends.
  • Effective customer relationship management strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project planning and management experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in social media applications and usage.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of relevant regulations and legislation.
