Finance Technician Purchase Ledger

Position: Fixed Term Contract of 6 months. Full time 37 hours over 5 days a week.

Location: 4040 Lakeside Birmingham Business Park / Hybrid (3 days in the office)

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join the Transactional Services team (Purchase Ledger). As Finance Technician you will support and assist the Payables Team Leader in the provision of high-quality purchase ledger services to Citizen Housing Group. You will have previous purchase ledger experience and will be expected to work to tight deadlines, providing exceptional customer service to all our stakeholders.

  • Ensuring all purchase invoices and credit notes are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Dealing with supplier/customer queries and escalation of such to the appropriate budget holder/manager for resolution.
  • Coding of invoices and supporting junior staff with invoice queries
  • Checking liability of utility bills
  • Supplier account reconciliations.
  • Dealing with supplier/customer queries and escalation of such to the appropriate budget holder/manager for resolution.
  • Ensuring the team mail box is managed within agreed timescales.
  • Building strong relationships by communicating with internal and external departments.
  • Providing processing cover for other colleagues within the Transactional Services Team.

As Finance Technician (Purchase ledger) we need you to have:

  • Experience of purchase ledger processes and procedures (to include but not limited to Purchase order matching and non Purchase order invoice approval systems)
  • A flexible and cooperative team player who understands the wider impact of their work on their team and other departments.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel, to include: VLOOKUP and pivots.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to demonstrate using initiative when required.
  • Experience of working within a "high volume" , busy, transactional services department and meeting tight deadlines
  • Experience within an account's environment providing accurate, reliable and timely financial information to internal and external customers
  • Experience of working effectively and constructively as part of a team to support the delivery of business objectives and achievement of targets
  • Uses positive, solutions-focused language in all communications and remaining optimistic even in challenging circumstances.
  • Embraces the need for and adapts positively to change, resilient to challenges, obstacles and handling conflict.
  • Demonstrates understanding of a commitment to principles of equality and diversity.
