Fleet Engineer

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Engineer who can think in an unconventional way to improve and develop our current fleet and systems while ensuring continued excellent levels of compliance as our business grows. Working alongside the commercial department, you will continuously monitor the condition and suitability of the fleet with a focus on future growth, compliance, efficiency and sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

Salary: £40,000- £45,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am- 4pm (37.5 hours per week)

Job Type: Full time and permanent contract

Location: AO Logistics, Weston Road, Crewe, CW1 6BF

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing As Our Fleet Engineer:

  • Provide support to our depots for vehicle related issues and challenges.
  • Develop and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure legal and compliant standards across our network.
  • Investigate vehicle failures, identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist in designing and developing future fleet specifications, including exploring green and sustainable options.
  • Manage relationships with vehicle manufacturers and leasing companies, overseeing the lease, hire and disposal of assets.
  • Utilise fleet data and telematics systems to monitor fleet performance and drive efficiency across our network.
  • Lead initiatives to improve fleet performance, reduce downtime and enhance overall fleet efficiency.
  • Ensure that we are following the correct processes on fleet care and maintenance, including component warranties and invoice queries.

A Few Things About You:

  • In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance practices
  • Proven history of technical experience - preferably experience of working within a large fleet operation
  • Understanding of transport and vehicle legislation
  • Relevant qualifications in vehicle repair & maintenance preferred
  • Experience in building long-lasting relationships with key suppliers
