  • Job Type: Part-Time and Full Time (up to 35 hours available)
  • Location: Nailsea and Weston sites
  • Actual Starting Salary (39 working weeks): £19,315 (based on 35 hours per week, term time only + INSET)

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our clients team within a specialist Academy, supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues. Our school is rapidly progressing and expanding, catering to students in years 5-11 with SEMH difficulties. We are seeking enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated Teaching Assistants/Mentors who are passionate about inclusive education. The schools are based in Nailsea and Weston, for KS2-4. There will be an addition al site opening in the Churchill area in the coming academic year, so some staff will be required in this area also.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist in the educational, personal, and social development of designated students under the direction and guidance of the Principal, SENCo, and class teachers.
  • Support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum and engage with their learning.
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to students' responses.
  • Deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to supporting young people with SEMH.
  • Resilience and motivation to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of each student.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
