Project Manager

Our central government client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a 6 month contract. As part of leading a small team, You will be required to assist in various critical functions of the programme. This includes but is not limited to: process improvements; on-going update to training materials and training delivery; IT solutions & enhancements required to support performance management, MI and reporting.
This role is pivotal to supporting the roll-out of further commodity groups and customs controls. You will be supported by a Project Support Officer and will provide governance and project oversight.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Process Improvement: Analyse and enhance FO processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Resource Modelling: Create medium to long-term resource models for optimal staffing.
  • Training Materials Refresh: Update training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Complaints Policy: Develop and refine policies for effective complaints handling.
  • Comms Mailbox Process: Establish processes for managing communications effectively.
  • Quality Assurance Framework: Implement a framework and checklist for performance management.
  • Planning: Lead project planning activities to define scope and objectives.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
  • Software Development: Coordinate with Sodexo and other partners for software development and implementation
  • Governance: Establish and maintain governance structures to ensure effective project management
  • Workstream Oversight: Provide oversight for all project workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while aligning with strategic goals.

  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Strong Project management experience
  • Must have worked within a central government organisation previously
  • Lean Six Sigma

In return, you will receive the opportunity to support a major government department, going through large transformation. The possibility to work on a 6 month contract on a hybrid basis for the foreseeable paying up to £575 p/day (in scope of IR35). There will be a requirement to be on site 60% of the week. This can be at any site: London, Newcastle, Warrington, York, Bristol.
