Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Exciting opportunities have emerged within a non-lethal training ammunition company, which is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead projects and develop innovative new products.
Position Summary:
- Leadership in Design: Take a leading role in the conceptualization, design, and development of new products.
- Project Management: Oversee project timelines and resources, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
- Documentation: Maintain and update project documents, including detailed drawings, spare parts lists, and technical specifications.
- Tooling Development: Design and develop tooling using workshop-based machinery, ensuring high precision and quality.
- Product Testing: Develop and implement robust methods for testing product performance and reliability.
- Data Analysis: Conduct thorough data analysis and evaluation to enhance design performance and ensure product reliability.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3D CAD Proficiency: Strong experience with 3D CAD software, particularly SOLIDWORKS, for designing and modeling.
- Educational Background: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
- Software Knowledge: Competence in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite for various design and documentation tasks.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems and think creatively in the design process.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in design and documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Strong team player with excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
