About Our Client

Our client has a condition called Elhers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), however they refuse to let this hold them back from succeeding at university. Our client is looking for a like-minded individual to support them with personal care and daily living. Applicants needs to be local due to the shift pattern.

As written by our client ..

"I have Elhers Danlos Syndrome and related comorbidities (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and Gastroparesis). My conditions mean that I am reliant on total Parental Nutrition (TPN) as a way of getting nutrition and fluids. I also suffer with unstable and painful joints and chronic fatigue. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user. So, although I can walk unaided, I cannot stand for prolonged periods and walking too often increases my pain.

I love listening to music and I am aiming to go to more live music events this year now I am settled at UWE. I may need your occasional support to do this.

I am a kind and highly empathetic person. I like to chat to people I know well and appreciate intelligent, meaningful conversations as well as light-hearted and fun ones.

It is important to me that all care is undertaken in a discreet manor under my instruction. I do not want my disabilities to define me and so would appreciate discretion around my care."

About The Role

You will provide our client with health and social care. This is also a "flatmate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect from life, like getting out and about to see friends, going to parties, going on holiday after graduation and much more!
