We are looking for a dedicated Cargo Handler to join a small and friendly team on a temporary basis, minimum of 2 months. Reporting to the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of cargo, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a pressurised environment and can work flexible hours.
Shift - Nights - Wednesday to Friday 7pm -5am and Saturday 6:30pm to 6am with 1 hour unpaid break
Day to Day of the role:
- Load and offload freight manually or mechanically, following handling procedures.
- Accurately place and retrieve freight in and from storage areas, recording locations as necessary.
- Conduct bond checks and perform housekeeping duties to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain and protect company or customer property and equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
- Adhere to the Company Health & Safety policy and Security Regulations.
- Comply with Company handling procedures and implement policies as directed in the Company Handbook.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Good people skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Capable of working within a pressurised environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours at short notice.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Fork Lift Licence is essential
- Certificate Level CO essential
