Finance Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our team in Ipswich. This part-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide essential support to our finance department, with a focus on purchase ledger management and general finance support.
Day-to-day of the role:

Purchase Ledger Management:

Process and record supplier invoices accurately and promptly.

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.

Prepare and process payment runs.

Maintain and update supplier accounts.

Handle queries related to purchase ledger transactions.

General Finance Support:

Assist with the preparation of financial reports.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Perform bank reconciliations.

Assist with VAT returns and other compliance tasks.

Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, particularly with purchase ledger responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
