We are seeking a dedicated Transport Coordinator to join our client's team, offering crucial administrative and logistical support. This position involves managing our fleet of vehicles, organising shipments, and maintaining accurate customer records. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the transport sector and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Schedule and coordinate all transportation activities.
  • Monitor and track the movement of vehicles and goods.
  • Ensure adherence to transport regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with drivers and other staff to ensure seamless transport services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport records and reports.
  • Provide support across various business functions as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients through consistent communication, offering advice, solutions, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents such as accidents to identify causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Supervise order processes to meet standard key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide information on routine operations.
  • Analyse data and oversee scheduling and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments and customers for cross-functional support.
  • Maximise productivity through efficient route management and set productivity targets when necessary.
  • Continuously review and refine operational processes to enhance accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are well-maintained and tracked.
  • Coordinate shipments by booking appointments, arranging transport, and tracking deliveries.
  • Update customer records, including contact information and order statuses, and resolve any related issues.
  • Provide administrative support to the operations team, such as preparing reports and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Address any freight-related issues and serve as a liaison between customers and drivers.
  • Optimise job efficiency by identifying opportunities for backhauling where appropriate.

  • Prior experience in the transport industry is highly desirable.
