Your new company
Hays is working with an independent cost consultancy to recruit a recently Chartered MRICS Quantity Surveyor. They have a wealth of experience in providing Quantity Surveying services for a wide range of projects across various sectors, with an emphasis on achieving value for money for our clients on all new build and refurbishment projects. You'll be joining a close-knit and highly experienced team in Glasgow City Centre, with a solid pipeline of work, mainly in the social housing sector.
Your new role
- Producing feasibility studies and presentation of options directly to the client
- Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Tendering and procuring of construction works including providing procurement advice to clients
- Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
- Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have recently achieved their MRICS Chartership and have a range of experience in different sectors. As you will be working in a small team, it would be advantageous to be able to work with autonomy and thrive in an environment where you use your initiative and enjoy taking ownership of your project work.
