Customer Service Officer
- Annual Salary: £29,700 per annum
- Location: Ipswich and office based. no hybrid working available.

Our client in Ipswich is looking for Customer Service Officers to support in a busy control room environment, where you will be at the forefront of delivering a 24/7 service to the Ipswich community. The Role and Operations:
As a Customer Service Officer, you will be a key player in a challenging and multifaceted environment. Your role will encompass:
- Engaging with customers, internal departments, and external agencies to provide exceptional support during emergency situations.
- Operating a range of systems including computer databases, radios, and alarm equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Monitoring closed-circuit television (CCTV) as part of our security and surveillance efforts.
- Coordinating with other departments, ensuring prompt and effective assistance.
- Handling out-of-hours communications, acting as a first point of contact for members of the public and external bodies in need of urgent support..
Shift and Rota Patterns:
Customer Service Officers will adhere to a set shift pattern, covering early, late, and night shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays. The shift rota is designed to ensure coverage and responsiveness at all times:
- Early shift: 06:30-14:45
- Late shift: 14:30-22:45
- Night shift: 22:30-06:45
The rota operates on a 10-week cycle with a ‘float fortnight', during which officers are expected to be flexible to cover shifts as needed.
About You:
- Enthusiastic and dependable, with a minimum of 5 GCSEs or an NVQ Level 3 qualification.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role or field.
- Skilled in managing diverse emergency situations, with the ability to prioritize and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Proficient in Windows-based software and experienced in public engagement.
- A focused individual capable of maintaining high levels of concentration during shifts.
- Open to obtaining a Public Space CCTV Surveillance SIA licence if not already certified.
An enhanced DBS Disclosure and Police Vetting Clearance will be required for this post as well as a driving licence.
