Merchandiser

Posted by Kenny Recruit.

Kenny Recruit are working with an online fashion retailer to find a Merchandiser on a permanent basis. Our client has gone from strength to strength in the 10 years that they have been trading and now offer a range of items and sell across the UK, USA and Europe.

As a Merchandiser, it will be your job to ensure that the stock always has the right products, in the quantities across the collection. We are looking for someone with a meticulous grasp of the numbers, who knows how to spot winners and losers in the range and who acts accordingly to rebalance the stock position. You will enjoy working with numbers, you will be number led rather than fashion led, although loving fashion would certainly be helpful. You will be able to look at a new product and understand where it went well and where it didn't go so well. Overseeing a Junior Merchandiser, you will have an insight into the results, looking at sales and stock. You will report to the VP of Finance & Data - but, of course, will need to work autonomously and independently. You'll work closely with teams across the business, especially Product, Finance, and Marketing.

Pay: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Location: London - 3 days in the office
Working hours: 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Data-Driven Decision Making to analyse performance and forecast sales
  • Stock control and range management — maintaining optimum stock levels with high SKU intensity
  • WSSI and OTB management
  • Reporting on findings and communicating them to the rest of the business
  • Turning qualitative and quantitative customer feedback into actionable insights
  • Market positioning analysis, including developing pricing and product strategies
  • Leading a small but mighty merchandising team

The right person:

  • A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a willingness to learn new systems as required
  • Crystal clear communication and people skills
  • Experience in fashion is useful, but not necessary
  • Commercial instincts - a great, natural sense for what matters, what moves the needle, and what is actually viable
  • Great project management skills - the ability to plan work, track progress and keep the wheels turning. This may include formal project management qualifications.
  • A bias to action - a proven track record of getting things done, at high tempo
  • A relentless drive to improve and optimise
  • The standard startuptoolkit: initiative, energy, a high degree of comfort in an unstructured environment, and a willingness to work across a broad range of roles
  • An authentic interest in fashion / style / menswear
