Our retained client is an educational establishment & are looking to recruit an
Interim Finance Director for a period of at least 6 months.
The role will involve:
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
Preparing the Annual Budget and presenting it to the Governors; working with the Principal to implement the budget when they have been approved by the Governors.
In consultation with the Principal:
Allocating, controlling, and accounting for the financial and material resources in accordance with the policies of the Governors.
Arranging for the safety and security and e?ective maintenance of the assets in accordance with the requirements of the Governors
The FD shall be responsible for:
Advising the Governors on general financial policy
Preparing annual statutory accounts, managing, and successfully completing the annual audit cycle including internal and external audit
Managing the short-term cash flow and any cash holdings
Monitoring income and expenditure in relation to budget and presenting regular management reports on them.
Managing the payment of suppliers, overdue balances, and supplier relationships
Collecting all debtors
The payment of all salaries and wages, including PAYE, pension, and National Insurance
Process for the authorisation and payment of all invoices and statements of account.
Keeping analyses of costs and other statistical records
Preparing financial appraisals of particular projects
Advising on taxation, including Income and Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Value Added Tax and any other relevant tax
Dealing with income tax and rating assessments
The role will also involve being responsible for non finance departments including HR and General back-office functions.
Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, education experience is not as important as commerciality and being able to work in a fast-paced environment with a number of stakeholders.
The role is an immediate one - interviews will take place on the 24th of June .
