Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join the team on a temporary basis from September 2024. As a 1:1 LSA, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential. This role is within a mainstream school, working with a children who has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and requires additional academic support, as well as social, emotional, mental health interventions to develop their social understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a designated student with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist with the implementation of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Behaviour Support Plan (BSP).
- Support the student in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Work closely with the student, teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on the student's progress to teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment tailored to the student's needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
- A patient, compassionate, and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of the student.
- A valid DBS check (Randstad Education can assist with this process).
