Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established client in North Shields who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis due to expansion.
Working in a close-knit team, your main responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring finance related emails/calls and answering any queries.
- Working with Excel spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
- Recording and filing cash transactions.
- Purchase and Sales Ledger Invoice processing.
- Processing expense requests for approval.
- Reconciling bank accounts.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Monitoring petty cash.
- Credit control and chasing debt, including reviewing credit limits and setting up new credit accounts.
- Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers.
- Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.
- Any other ad hoc duties as requested.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be AAT fully qualified/part qualified.
- Have at least 2 years' experience in a similar accountancy role.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
- Be an analytical thinker and problem solver.
- Have excellent IT skills, particularly MS Excel.
- Have great administrative skills.
