Mackie Myers is partnering with a prestigious cultural institution, located in the heart of London, for an urgent interim placement.
The Role:
They are seeking an interim Tax Manager to start immediately. This critical role involves managing and developing the VAT and tax team while overseeing various improvement and automation projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Being the face of the tax team, addressing queries and providing advice to those across the company
- Rapidly assessing and implementing improvement and automation/simplification projects
- Overseeing the preparation of time-sensitive returns for key stakeholders, including HMRC
- Delivering expert technical guidance on VAT, PAYE, gift aid, and foreign tax
- Managing investments and overseeing systems administration for the Museum's accounting system
- Spearheading urgent projects, including VAT manual development and tax strategy
- Ensuring timely preparation of VAT returns and compliance with HMRC guidance and legislation
- Overseeing critical financial systems administration and payroll processes
The Successful Candidate:
- You must be immediately available or close to, to start before the end of September
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with tax experience
- Proven track record in handling tax matters, preferably in the cultural or non-profit sector
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems
- Ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax rules across the organization
