Registered Children's Home Manager

Location: Salford
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Bonuses: £2,500 signing bonus + £2,500 successful probation bonus

Introduction: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Registered Children's Home Manager. We are preparing to open a new children's home and are looking for a leader to help establish and guide this important service. This role is perfect for an experienced Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career.

Job Role: As the Registered Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the home's operations, ensuring that we provide a high standard of care that supports the emotional, social, and educational development of the children. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a safe environment, adhering to safeguarding procedures, and leading a team to deliver exceptional care while meeting regulatory and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and compliant environment.
  • Lead and inspire the team, promoting a culture of excellence, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe environment, ensuring all staff are trained to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards, preparing for and participating in inspections.
  • Develop and review individual care plans to support the health, education, and well-being of each child.
  • Implement policies and procedures that align with current legislation and best practices in residential childcare.
  • Collaborate with children, families, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the children's needs are met.
  • Manage the home's financial operations, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives to maintain a competent and motivated team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children's home setting.
  • Deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a history of building and maintaining a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
