Product Controller - 12 Month Contract

Our client, one of the world's leading financial institutions, is seeking a talented Product Controller to join their team in Chester on a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive organisation that values the unique contributions of its employees.
The Role:
- Support various businesses trading a range of products, including credit, interest rate, FX, and equity-based products.
- Provide control and advisory guidance to key business partners.
- Validate and re-attribute P&L explanations for Equities trading desk.
- Reconcile and substantiate balances to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
- Prepare daily P&L and balance sheet reporting, including commentary and reviewing changes.
- Contribute to planning and reporting to influence business strategy.
Requirements:
- Excellent MS Excel skills with the ability to build and use spreadsheets.
- Demonstrable risk identification and management experience.
- Positive relationship management and partner management abilities.
- Previous investment banking experience.
- Knowledge of derivatives and associated products or a willingness to learn.
- Valuations experience or similar would be an advantage.
- Strong academic background.
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or CFA with a good working knowledge of accounting concepts, desirable.
