We have an exciting role for an Operations Technical Assistant who will be responsible in supporting the FLM's within the depot, to drive efficiencies and cost savings across all Operational support activities allowing FLM's to drive safety, productivity and efficiencies at the point of delivery out in the field.

I help to keep people safe and warm by...

  • Supporting SRO coordination
  • Supporting the creation of ROs and NROs for the depot FLMs
  • Undertaking Traffic Management design
  • Liaising with external stakeholders, such as Roads Authorities, other Utilities, and members of the public to exchange information, maintain positive working relationships, and enhance SGN's reputation
  • Coordinating plant and equipment hire support
  • Working with operational First Line Managers and other team members to plan, reallocate, and reprioritise as required
  • Maintaining a register of competence for all depot resources and Contractors
  • Supporting local training requirements to ensure all relevant qualifications are valid
  • Liaising with the Training department to proactively arrange and confirm attendance for all training requirements
  • Assisting with all equipment compliance measures
  • CAT4 Cable Avoidance, Gascoseekers, PAMS
  • Maintaining a register of all relevant safety/engineering communication
  • Team Brief, SEI, SEB, etc.
  • Covering both Direct Labour and Contractor delivery
  • Supporting the PS5 process
  • Liaising with the depot FLMs in all technical operations
  • Producing compliance reports on fatigue management

What you'll need

  • A valid UK drivers licence is essential
  • Previous experience of working as part of a team, in an operational support role, is preferable
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, and standards including health and safety requirements is required
  • Customer service skills and experience
  • Ability to communicate and influence people, both internally and externally
  • Awareness of core operational processes
