Senior Project Management - Digitalisation

E.ON over the last 15 years has lead the decarbonisation of UK heat through city wide heat infrastructure. It was one of the first organisations to capitalise on the creation of heat zoning regulation which became law in 2024. Over the last 15 years, working in partnership with cities and supply chain partners, E.ON has created 14 city wide heat networks. In each city air quality has been improved and cities have been decarbonised at scale and pace using local people and local supply chain.

Right now we're looking for a Senior Project Manager to support with E.ON Heat activities and continued growth. You will be playing a key role in supporting the delivery of our digitalisation by managing change projects and leading a matrix managing key resources to support the delivery of projects for our Heat Operate and Maintain business.

Responsibilities:

  • Key role in supporting successful delivery of the Digitalisation of Heat Networks O&M by managing successful change projects
  • Managing relationships within Heat Networks, Digital Technology and wider EIS departments ensuring prioritisation and delivery of change in line with operational strategy
  • Lead the delivery of projects taking responsibility to gather requirements, design and build, working with relevant key stakeholders.
  • Support the Sponsor to complete Business case, Investment proposals etc. taking responsibility for delivering projects on time and to budget, maximising benefits delivered.
  • Where required take the role of Product Owner in the delivery of Agile projects.
  • Lead resources to map processes, design new ways of working in line with digitalisation, and make recommendations to the business on policy, process & structure.
  • Ensure that all operational change activities are implemented consistently in line with the E.ON's Change framework.
  • Ensure change activities are planned and activities clearly defined and understood, using tools such as project plans, business readiness plans, communications and training.
  • Define the operational impacts of change initiatives - either as part of locally delivered or centrally delivered change projects. Work with stakeholders to identify, manage and mitigate associated risks and issues.
  • Manage a Communications plan and take responsibility for all aspects of communication in relation to the projects.
  • Provide a good understanding of Industry Compliance and Regulation to ensure there are no breaches in policy for the business function.
  • Lead at steering meetings, design authorities and other meetings as required.
  • Proactively identify value adding opportunities for digital change within the business function.
  • Collaborate with Change Advocates from other business areas to share lessons learnt and insights, taking actions as appropriate.
  • Be an ambassador for digitalisation and continual improvement within Heat Networks.

What we need from you

  • Degree level and/or experience of strategic business management.
  • Significant understanding of energy meter operations activity including Planning and Scheduling activity.
  • Experience of:
  • Managing a large complex organisation including dispersed teams
  • Delivering strategic change management
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Managing financial performance including P&L accounts
  • Driving customer satisfaction
  • Managing and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Ability to understand complex problems, identify risks and put in place suitable mitigation.
  • Good communication skills, able to drive complex change programmes
  • Good understanding of change / project tools and techniques.
  • Greater knowledge and awareness of metering activities and Smart metering including legal and regulatory requirements within the metering industry and technical issues.
  • Experience with embedding change into a large organisation.
