Berry Recruitment is hiring for a Permanent Administrator to join our client in Oxford

Our clients runs a very busy Children's Nursery in need of someone who is very organised and willing to lend a hand in any job that might come along! For the right person this is a fun, varied job, involving all the aspects of the nursery, where no two days are the same. A responsible and, at times, a pretty demanding job too!

Salary: £24,538 to £26,500 pa annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Oxford

Hours: Monday to Friday - 45 hours a week - Shift pattern between the hours of 7am and 7pm

Start date: June 2024

About the role:

As the Administrator your responsibilities will include:

  • To support the Principal with all administrative tasks to include (but not exclusively) HR matters, advertising and recruitment and interviewing
  • To aid with typing (emailing, texting etc) and filing
  • To file and record staff sick absence and holiday
  • To arrange in-house and external statutory training sessions for all staff
  • To answer the main telephone and deal with calls appropriately
  • To order stationary (paper, pens, paints, card etc) and consumables (hand towels, toilet roll, hand soap etc)
  • To aid the classrooms with typing, organising and booking excursions and extra-curriculum visitors
  • To type and file children's reports
  • To produce and publish newsletters and other information in the form of signs, memos, emails, WhatsApp messages etc
  • To drop off children at the local primary school.
  • To collect children from local primary schools to include most of the schools in Abingdon and beyond to a maximum of 10 miles. The collection is either on foot or by car.
  • To order food for the kitchen and for the cooking in the rooms; to help with planning fruit and smoothies for the children when necessary.

About you as the Administrator:

  • Full clean Driving Licence and access to own car daily (minimum 4 seats)
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good team worker
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
  • Very flexible - ability to turn your hand to any given task
  • Driven and keen to go 'the extra mile'
  • Possessing a professional approach to parents, children and staff, no matter what
  • Possessing excellent verbal and written skills, good enough to write reports, newsletters and signs in clear correct English.
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Prepared to attend regulatory training outside office hours if necessary
