Assistant Finance Manager

The role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, with the opportunity to progress, duties will include:

  • Assisting with management of accounts team
  • Assisting with management of monthly and yearly accounts processes
  • Ensuring that month end and year end reporting routines are completed accurately and on time
  • Overseeing the purchase ledger
  • Assisting team with bank, prepayments and accruals
  • Reconciling nominal accounts
  • Online banking and authorisations
  • Month-end reports
  • Assisting senior stakeholders within the finance team, directors and CEO
  • Assist CEO/Directors when required
  • Providing key information for other teams and providing information for the auditors
  • Populate a monthly KPI to assess staff levels and performance
  • A flexible approach to taking on other duties within the department

Experience required

  • Experience of managing staff
  • Happy to multi-task
  • Experience up to Nominal Ledger level and month-end

Systems experience

  • They operate on Sage Line 50 – an advantage if used, but alternatively fluid in other similar systems
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook

Interpersonal skills required

  • The right attitude and work ethic
  • Good communicator
  • Great team player and happy to turn attention to what is most needed at the time

Qualifications

This would suit someone qualified by experience

Progression

Working closely with Finance Manager learn all aspects of the role, with a view to succession when the time is right.

Working hours

9am – 5pm – in the office 5 days a week
