Job Description:

I am looking for a dedicated and empathetic Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality support to service users with addictions. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting our clients on their journey to recovery, offering practical and emotional support, and facilitating access to essential services.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with addictions or in a related support role is required
  • Education: A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of addiction, recovery processes, and the social services landscape.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Direct Support: Offer one-on-one support to service users, helping them manage their addiction and work towards recovery goals.
  • Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with service users to create personalised care plans that address their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Facilitate Access to Services: Assist clients in accessing health care, housing, employment, and other support services.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Group Support Sessions: Lead and participate in group therapy and support sessions, fostering a sense of community and shared experience among clients.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service user progress and report on their development to the team.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of service users, ensuring they receive fair treatment and access to necessary resources.
