Finance Administrator / Accounts Assistant - German Speaking

Nicholas Howard are exited to be recruiting an interim role for a German Speaking Finance Administrator / Accounts Assistant to join a fast growing International AI & Software client. The role will be for an initial 6 months, and is hybrid, with time split between the London office and home. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading global business in their space, at the cutting edge of AI Solutions. The role will be supporting the German market, and business fluency in German is essential.

The role is an all round accounts assistant position, and we are growing the team so are open to both early careers candidates looking to make their way in finance and accounting, as well as those with more commercial exposure in their background.

The role will be managing day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. As with any role in finance, it requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and an understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities will include (we don't expect all of this day 1):

  • Monitor financial transactions and reports
  • Assist with budget preparation and analysis
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review day-to-day financial transactions
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts
  • Maintain an accurate record of all financial transactions
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
  • Assist in financial analysis by providing insights into variances and trends
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with ad-hoc strategic projects
  • Coordinate with external auditors and outsourced providers as relevant

What we are looking for:

  • Native or Business Fluent German language skills
  • Experience in finance administration, bookkeeping or accounting, looking for your first finance related role or studying a finance related subject
  • Understand basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Are proficient in using Microsoft products, especially Excel
  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • You are a high performer who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • You are collaborative, humble and a problem-solver
