School Reading Buddy Role & Responsibilities:
- Work with children who may be struggling with reading, lack language skills or have little confidence
- Support pupils to apply comprehension strategies independently to reading tasks, contexts and subjects
- Plan and deliver 1-1 reading interventions suitable for primary aged children
- Carefully select texts to match each student's reading level, these texts are used in targeted lessons where you will work with students to improve their comprehension skills
School Reading Buddy Non-negotiables:
- Have a good grasp of written and spoken English
- An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children
- Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
- A good work ethic
