Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Projects to lead our project management team. This role involves overseeing the delivery of client-funded projects, managing a team of project managers, project engineers and handling your own projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of client-funded projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal client management team and clients on project-related matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and manage client expectations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of project management strategies and methodologies.
  • Align project management practices with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

Resource Management:

  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Manage project budgets and financials.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure resource availability and allocation.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experiencing managing technology deployments, often from client sites
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Must have:

  • Proven experience in managing client-funded projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
