Refugee Employment Adviser

We are seeking a professional and committed individual to join our team in the role of Refugee Employment Adviser. This person will provide high-quality advice and guidance to clientsclients of the 'Employability for Overseas Nationals' project in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and be part of a network of advisers across the East of England.

The successful applicant will help refugees, third country nationals and their family members move from benefits or under-employment to work appropriate to their qualifications, experience and aspirations. Acting as a single point of contact, you will undertake a skills, education and experience assessment and recommend pathways to training and work experience through other project partners to people until March 2025.

As well as assisting clients to move nearer to the job market, the post holder will have to keep accurate records of the work and submit quarterly activity reports and clients' spreadsheet securely and within deadline to the regional project lead, the Strategic Migration Partnership from the East of England LGA.

The role requires good interpersonal and IT skills and a commitment to high quality work with good attention to detail. You should be polite, tenacious and be able to be flexible and creative to achieve the key project outcomes. You must be able to contribute to a team approach, but also be able to confidently work under your own initiative and independently to resolve a range of issues.

A hybrid working system is acceptable for the right candidate. Travel throughout Cambridgeshire is essential (Mileage will be paid).

The role is full time. This post requires a DBS check. Having a conviction will not necessarily cause a bar to employment.
