Nights Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Yate, Bristol

Salary: £27,500 per annum plus monthly bonus post probation

Job type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: Up to 42.5 Hours per week; 5 days per week; Start times between 21:00 and 23:00

Our client is a Bristol based wholesale company, and they are currently seeking a Full-time, Permanent, Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy nights team based in Yate, Bristol.

Our client has been established for over 50 years and are one of the largest independent foodservice companies in the Southwest. They supply a full range of frozen, chilled and ambient foods, fresh and frozen seafood, together with an extensive range of non-food catering products.

The role:

To assist in managing Warehouse Personnel and ensure the warehouse runs effectively, efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee safe goods handling, adhering to HACCP and Health and Safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment, promptly addressing contamination issues
  • Conduct regular racking inspections and safety equipment checks
  • Strategically manage stock arrangement, including special requirements for temperature control and allergens
  • Ensure precise order preparation and secure vehicle loading as per transport department schedules
  • Supervise and train Warehouse Personnel, fostering a productive team environment
  • Collaborate with HR on recruitment, employee issues, and payroll management
  • Champion workplace Health and Safety, maintaining accurate records and promoting a safety-first culture

The person:

The Nights Warehouse Manager will be expected to have the following skills:

  • Computer literate with proficient use of Microsoft Office and the company's internal lady lodge system
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and senior managers
  • Clear understanding of the need for quality and the benefits of compliance
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Understanding of BRC requirements
  • Good attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
  • A good level of numeracy and English literacy skills
  • Honest, reliable, trustworthy character with a strong work ethic and a flexible and adaptable attitude to work
  • Friendly, helpful, disposition and excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work quickly, accurately and safely and to remain calm when under pressure
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Hands on commitment to getting the job done
