LGV TEST CENTRE MANAGER
Our client is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to oversee their LGV Test Centre in Cramlington, Northumberland.
Reporting to the Logistics Director, the successful candidate will possess commercial experience in business development and sales, alongside a proven track record of managing a workshop servicing or repairing LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the operation of the test centre and workshop, with focus on efficiency and productivity
- Business development and sales
- Budget and cost control management
- Enforcing health and safety standards
- Developing customer relations ensuring effective fleet maintenance
- Planning and scheduling workloads (including ATF lane)
- Collaborating effectively with the DVSA
- Negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing on parts
- Ensuring effective operation of invoicing systems
Candidates must have relevant commercial business development and sales experience, as well as prior managerial experience running a workshop and leading a team of technicians. Specific experience with LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles is essential. While a Category C or C&E driving license is preferred, it is not mandatory. We are looking for an individual with flexibility, adaptability, strong team leadership skills; and excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication abilities. IT skills essential.
