Residential Support Worker - Sleep-In (No Weekends or School Holidays)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team, providing overnight support to young people in a residential setting. This role offers the unique benefit of having weekends and school holidays off, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Day to day of the role:
- Provide care and support to youth in a residential environment.
- Create a safe and nurturing space that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents.
- Assist with the implementation of individualized care plans, focusing on goal setting and skill development.
- Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life skills programs.
- Build positive relationships with youth and their families, involving them in the care process.
- Administer medication as needed and maintain accurate records.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and meet the needs of each resident.
- Respond to crisis situations and maintain the safety and security of residents.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering independence and empowering youth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth in a residential or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the developmental needs and challenges faced by young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork abilities and the capacity to work independently as needed.
- Flexibility to work sleep-in and occasional night shifts.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Knowledge of youth care legislation and best practices.
