  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay rate: £15 per hour PAYE or £18.00 per hour as an Umbrella Contractor
  • Salary for the permanent role is £27,000 per annum
  • Location: Onsite with free parking
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm with a 30-minute unpaid break
  • Note: After a period of time, the role will transition to full-time maintenance due to workshop closure

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Operative/Storesperson to manage the issue and return of tools to apprentices, maintain the integrity of our stores, and carry out general maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will deliver a high standard of customer service that aligns with our core values of inspiration, inclusivity, innovation, and integrity.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Maintain stores integrity, managing the issue and return of tools and materials
  • Assist in material deliveries, preparation, and storage
  • Raise and progress purchase orders for tools and consumables
  • Ensure tools and equipment meet Health & Safety requirements; repair or replace as required
  • Conduct stock takes every 6 months and control stock for procurement
  • Cut stock material to size as requested, adhering to SLA requirements
  • Perform monthly workshop health & safety checks and defect reporting
  • Liaise with contractors for periodic servicing and calibration of workshop equipment
  • Attend weekly meetings and H&S committee meetings as required
  • Complete an annual asset register list of all assets
  • Conduct daily inspections of the workshop, carry out small machine repairs, and order parts as necessary
  • Assist with general site maintenance tasks as directed by the Head of Operations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a workshop or maintenance environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety management legislation and standards
  • Familiarity with COSHH management and procedures
  • Competence in using various tools and equipment for maintenance tasks
